Our Beliefs
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is at the center of everything. We believe that Jesus is the only one who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
We remember His death through Communion each Lord's Day, "Upon the first day of the week" (Acts 20:7)
THE TRINITY
We BELIEVE in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
We TRUST the person of Jesus Christ as our Savior. (Romans 3:9-28: Acts 8:12)
THE BIBLE
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.
We believe firmly on the Bible, old as it is, it will be firm when the worlds have crumbled. (2nd Peter 1:20; Matthew 24:35)
We believe the Bible speaks today as it has through the ages.
BAPTISM
We are baptized as Jesus was baptized, going down into the water and coming out of the water, fulfilling Paul's picture of baptism as a symbol of Christ's death, His burial, and His resurrection.
In a grave of water you die, and are buried and raised and walk in a new life with Jesus. This is an act of Faith and Obedience.
(Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:26-27; Ephesians 4:4-6; Matthew 3:13-16; Acts 2:38-41, 8:12, 8:36, 9:18, 10:48, 16:15, 18:8; Colossians 2:9-12)
DENOMINATION
We are not a denomination. God loves us. Christ, His Son, bled and died for us. It is neither seemly nor Christian that His children should argue over matters of opinion.
(1 st Corinthians 1:10).
We are called "Christians" because in the Bible they were called "Christians." It is enough, and it is a marvelous name to wear.
(Acts 11:26; 1st Peter 4:16)
THE CHURCH
We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together.
We are not the only Christians, but we do seek to be Christians only, loving God, respecting and revering His Word, and believing His Church needs no apology nor change as it is revealed in Scriptures. (Revelation 22:18-19)
HOW CAN I BE SAVED?
At Havasu Christian Church, we strongly believe that accepting Jesus as your Savior requires three steps:
1. Repent of you sins and turn from your old way of life and turn toward God.
(Acts 2:38; 3:19)
2. Confess that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior.
(Romans 10:9-10)
3.Baptism by immersion. With this act of faith, you are asking for the full impact of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection to be upon you life.
