NOTES FROM BILLY

June 2026

Greetings, fellow worshippers ...

I know this world is a time thief. It seems there is always one more thing to do, one more thing to worry about, one more thing to pick up at the store, one more phone call to make, more texts to respond to, one more social media update post, more bad news to deal with ... and still, one. more. thing.

What can help? Worship. Worship is our intentional pause to lay down the world's heavy burdens and realign our hearts with God’s presence. Praying, singing, and reflecting on God’s Word invites the Holy Spirit to help quiet our chaos – quiet our minds - allowing us to center our hearts on the unchanging nature of God’s love. When we worship, we are actually trading our “things to do” for the calming assurance of His promises by stepping into God's quiet, restoring embrace.

The dove has long served as a beautiful scriptural symbol of peace and the gentle presence of the Holy Spirit. Just as the Holy Spirit descended like a dove upon Jesus, our worship invites that same comforting, gentle, loving Holy Spirit to settle over the “one more things” in our lives, and remind us to find rest, stillness, and divine comfort in God's presence.

And when Jesus was baptized, immediately He went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on Him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17 (ESV).

I encourage you to encourage me, and each other, to let the peace of the Holy Spirit guide your worship.

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope ... " Romans 15:13

"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7

✌🏼♥️... peace and love … Billy
