What If One Invite Changed Everything?
I love our worship times together. Just to be with loved ones that love Jesus is amazing. But let's remember - there are many people still searching for real purpose and healing right now.
Think about your circle for a second. Think about those around you. Think about your best friends, your parents, your grandma and your grandpa, your sisters, and your brothers. Think about your spouse, your girlfriend, and your boyfriend, the friend you split lunch with. Now, think about those in your daily routine - your coworkers, your boss, a teacher, or a classmate. How about the people involved in your social events, your online friends? Even the quick interactions count: the bank teller, the grocery store clerk, cashiers, restaurant servers, delivery people. Do they know Jesus the way you do?
What if one simple invite brought them into the life changing presence of God. Your simple, "Hey, come to church with me" invite could change their entire eternity! Because time is fleeting, we cannot afford to wait to introduce the people we love to the ultimate purpose of our existence: worshiping the Living God.
The truth is, life is incredibly short, and face it, even we are not getting any younger, and we never know how much time we have with the people around us. Tomorrow is never guaranteed. The scripture is pretty clear about this. James 4:14 reminds us, "You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." King David prayed in Psalm 39:4, "Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is."
We should not keep this joy to ourselves! We have the greatest news on the planet – a message of hope, rescue, and unconditional love. True worship is so powerful that it overflows into excitement. In Scripture, when people encountered Jesus, they could not stay silent. Andrew immediately ran to bring his brother into Jesus' presence - "The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, 'We have found the Messiah' (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus ..." John 1:41-42, and Philip told his friend, "... Come and see" John 1:46.
The best part? There are plenty of seats ready and waiting. You don't have to worry about overcrowding or whether there is space - the worship center has seats specifically set aside for the people you love to join us – to worship with, to sing with, to pray with, to love, to encourage and be encouraged.
God is seeking people to worship Him in spirit and truth - "Yet a time is coming and has now come, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit, and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." John 4:23. He wants His house packed with praise! In Luke 14:23, He commands us to "... Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full." After all, " How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" Romans 10:14.
So ... I encourage you to encourage me to invite. There is a seat waiting. Jesus has a great reunion planned. He is waiting, and He is worthy of our praise. Let’s catch that holy urgency. Don't overthink it; Don't wait until it is too late. Reach out, bring someone with you, let's fill up these seats, and lift up the name of Jesus together!
