are you ready for battle?
One of the things I learned from my week-long experience on the U.S.S. Preble (my Son-In-Law’s Navy destroyer ship) was that even in still waters, even in calms seas, even on furlough, that ship had to be ready and prepared for battle at any second – without warning. Any and all weapons and defense mechanisms on board had to be ready for immediate deployment. As Christians, we too, need to be ready for battle at any time – and, without warning!
”Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:10-12
Since we can’t see our enemy, we need to be ready for sneak attacks, and one of the best ways to be ready for battle is to first check your weapons. Are they in good shape? Do they work correctly? Have they been cleaned? Sharpened? Well it just so happens that we have some great events coming up this month that are perfect for helping you prepare your weapons, and you, for battle:
- WORSHIP SONGS & STORIES SERVICE on Sunday, 03.09.2025 @ 6:00 pm at the church. Worship is a great way to prepare for battle, and to send the enemy running. Plan to be a part of that night. Pick up a flyer and turn in a Worship Song & Story to encourage you!
- SWORD DRILL on Saturday, 03.22.2025 @ 4:00 pm at the church. Bring your Bible and lets have a sword sharpening night. This is a great way to sharpen your skills, and prepare for battle!
- FIFTH SUNDAY FELLOWSHIP on Sunday 03.30.2025 @ 4:00 pm at Valley Christian Church in Bullhead City, AZ. Plan to join in a great time of fellowship and worship by raising some hallelujahs to keep our enemy away! Followed by a Chili Dinner provided by Valley Christian Church. We could load up the army in the Church Van to make the trek. You will not be disappointed!
Here is yet another reason to be prepared:
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
