Blank Canvases, Brushes, and Blessings!

What an incredible night we had as we gathered together for our first ever Worship and Paint night hosted by April Martin and myself. Worship music floated through the air. Tables were lined with blank canvases, brushes, and paint supplies. Another table was lined with a rainbow of acrylic color just waiting to be spread. And yet another table stacked with sandwiches and snacks to keep up our strength. From the very moment the event started, it did not take long to realize that the creative spark of our Creator is alive and well in this church family.

We began by anchoring our hearts in worship with prayer and reading from God’s Word:

"Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars!"

Psalm 148:3

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands."  Psalm 19:1

Armed with scripture, colorful palettes, brushes, and creativity, we set to work bringing those very verses to life with breathtaking sky scenes and landscapes with moon, stars, trees, and sunsets. The atmosphere was thick with praise, joy, laughter, love, and conversation, turning our beautiful creative chaos into a sacred time of collective worship. There is truly nothing better than to worship together as a family.

The room then filled with the sounds of voices in worship and praise lifting up our Heavenly Father in song as we sang “God of Wonders”; “Indescribable” and “How Great Thou Art”.

The artist's attention then turned to painting powerful cross art, and by the end of the night, the room was full of glorious colors and “happy accidents”.  How exciting was it to think that if our Indescribable God is Himself the Master Artist, heaven must be absolutely bursting with creativity!

What a beautiful reminder of how good it feels to create, laugh, love, and worship as one big family. Blending colors to create breathtaking skyscapes and striking cross art felt like a small, joyful preview of the eternal beauty waiting for us in heaven.

THANK YOU to all attending artists; and thanks to everyone who helped set up, clean up, bring food, and keep the acrylics in check.

Missed the night but want to experience the beauty? You can view these incredible art pieces during a limited engagement at the HCC Art Gallery (on the table in the Worship Center), or you may find these rare works of art on the Havasu Christian Church website.

Check the calendar and participate in all worship opportunities.  You do not want to miss out!

✌🏼♥️peace and love … Billy
