Hello Church …
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 (ESV)
God is the author of creativity. You are created in His image, so it only makes sense that there is something creative in each and every one of us. Creativity is in our blood, and using that creativity is a fantastic way to connect with God, and get our worship going.

“Stop!”, you say, “Creative? Not me!”. But you are wrong. Just think, up to this very moment you have managed to find creative ways to get through every single day, so why not use that God given, inherited creative trait to enhance your worship? Here are some things that you can use to spark your creativity:
*USE YOUR BIBLE. I mean, REALLY, use your bible. Read, read, read. Read each passage like it’s the first time you’ve done it. Read passages out loud (and dramatically 😊). The bible app on your phone may have a “READ ALOUD” option that you can choose, and that can be inspiring as well.
*USE YOUR ART. Maybe keep some blank paper, pens, and pencils (or even paint) nearby. Read a verse and maybe draw or paint what stands out in that verse. Draw or doodle things you are thankful for, on your heart. Find a Christian coloring book, and get creative (you can even use your computer or tablet for that). It doesn’t just have to be paint, pens and pencils and paper either. How about sewing? Or crafting? Try using clay or the ever-popular Play-Doh to express yourself.
*USE YOUR WORDS. Word usage can be creative. Keep a notebook nearby and try journaling, or authoring a story, a poem, a song – or just a note to a friend. Try to make up some Word Games. For an example, write out the letters “J-E-S-U-S C-H-R-I-S-T” and come up with words that are related to Jesus for each letter. Try it … you could use this one over and over again …

*USE YOUR VOICE. You could Sing. The Bible tells us, “Oh, sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.” Psalm 96:1 (ESV) and there is something special when we sing songs of worship. And you don’t have to do this just in church. You can do it at home, in the car, anywhere. Tune in to your Christian Music radio station (we have KNLB and ALIVE FM in town), or turn your TV to the Christian music channel and sing along.
“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him;
male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27 (ESV)
Knowing who your Heavenly Father is gives you no end to your creativity. So … get creative!! Your art doesn’t have to be perfect, or gallery or museum worthy – your art is being done for an audience of One. And He will love anything you come up with.
