News about the Challenge gifts…
As you may remember, the Church was given a challenge of matching a $5,000 gift and a $1,000 gift. The Challenges have both been met! YAY!
The $5000 matching gift will be donated this fall. The hope was that this would give us the money needed to repave the parking lot. Unfortunately, giving has not been keeping up with regular expenses this summer, and we’ve had to use some of this money to pay bills!
The Fellowship Ministry will be meeting on September 7th at 6 pm… We’ll meet at Red Robin. If you would like to help with planning special events, please join us.
ATTENTION MEN!!!
Living Word Family Church is hosting their 5th annual “Men of Valor Men’s conference, and we are invited! The theme is Pursue, Overtake and Recover all! (I Samuel 30:8) Dates are September 18th and 19th. The service on Friday evening begins at 5:30 pm. Dinner will be available if you come early. Saturday morning begins at 8:30 am. If you want breakfast, come early. John will be speaking on Saturday morning and Billy will be doing some songs as well. They would really appreciate your support!
It’s time to drag out your camouflage! Sunday, September 27th, we’d love for you to wear Camo to Church. If you don’t have any camo, figure out another way to “blend in!”
Join us on October 2nd at 5 pm in Rotary Park!
Bring your own hot dogs, hamburgers or brats and we’ll grill them up for you! Bring a couple side dishes or desserts to share and we’ll help you eat them! (This is a “date change” from September 18th)
Some of you are “missing out!”
You’ve never visited one of the “small groups” that are a part of the life of our Church! One group meets in the home of Verne and Kay Granere. (2643 Bamboo Drive) They meet at 4 pm for Bible Study and fellowship. The other group meets at 5 pm for Bible Study and a meal. This group meets in the home of John & Robin Walton. (598 Hornet Drive) These groups give you the opportunity to grow closer to Christian Brothers and Sisters, while studying together. Give one of these groups a try! You’ll be glad you did!

I am so thankful that the people of this Church are people of prayer! Many of you already participate in our Prayer Chain, (for more info, talk to Robin) and our Men’s Prayer group (meets on Wednesday at 8 am) But I was talking to Pat Albers a few days ago and she informed me that the small group that meets in Verne and Kay Granere’s house is going to be putting an even larger emphasis on prayer than they already have been. Pat mentioned that they intend to pray for God to work with and through this Church, and that they would also be praying for their neighbors. Pat, Robin and I watched a video together where the speaker mentioned that when you see a house with a for sale sign, to pray that God would send people to live here that will be an active part of this Church. If you see a house with toys in the yard, (Kids toys, not boats and jet skis) pray specifically that God will help us reach those kids and their families. I guess what we are asking is to BE INTENTIONAL IN YOUR PRAYERS!

If you need help with a chore around your home, don’t try to do it yourself and get hurt!
Don’t pay some stranger to do it. Call on our “Helping Hands.” This Ministry seeks to be of aid to our folks at Church who just “need a little help” with this or that. Need a furnace filter changed? Call on the “Helping Hands.” Have some dead lightbulbs in your ceiling? Call on the “Helping Hands.” Need help in the yard? Call on the “Helping Hands.” Need an addition built onto your home? Call a licensed and bonded contractor! If you would like to ADD your hands to the “Helping Hands,” contact Daniel Witham for more information! If you NEED a “Helping Hand” call Daniel Witham or the Church Office.
