In the church building is a basement. In the basement is a room. In the room is a tote. In the tote are lots of stuffed animals. These animals are waiting to go into boxes to travel the world to become the prized possession of a child who needs to hear about Jesus.
The boxes we packed last year traveled to several different places. In February we had boxes shipped to Panama. In May there were boxes that went to the Pacific Islands. In June some went to the Philippines. And in August some of our boxes left the U.S. to go to Mongolia.
National Collection Week is November 14-21. Let’s pack boxes together November 12 at 1pm. We have plenty of stuffed animals. We are still needing school supplies (now is a good time to buy them), toys, personal care items (no toothpaste) and accessories. Please no used items. All items are to be new. So shop those sales and clearance aisles.
A more detailed suggestion list can be picked up at the church. Or you can find the link for the list and videos on our website under Missions Ministry. If you are interested in what others are packing or want to see videos of kids receiving their boxes then follow the Operation Christmas Child facebook page.
Let’s work together to accomplish much. Donations for shipping the boxes we pack on November 12 would be accepted. Currently we have enough for 17 boxes. The suggested donation for boxes is $10.
If you have any questions ask me or go to the Operation Christmas Child website.
